Andy Harrison is a champion. Out of 35 players for our 1st Annual Harbour Bar Charity tournament, he took first. What did he win? A $500 cash prize and a two-night stay at the W Hotel downtown. What did he do? Gave that $500 back to the charity. Class.
The tournament was to benefit a fellow player in the poker league, Nathan Colley. Nathan took a pretty bad fall in December and got pretty hurt (read more about it here), so we decided to bring our community of players together to raise some money for the man.
We ended up raising around $4,000 for Nathan – from the poker buy-ins, t-shirt sales, Alan Byrne’s body waxing auction, a silent auction, and the tips that RiRa’s servers pulled together!
So thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. This will greatly help Nathan’s financial recovery in the next few months.
